Home security
Even though home security is often thought of as sirens
and alarms to protect against intruders, it is much more than just that.
Some of the home security devices that could help you include:
• Detectors – Door and window sensors
as well as motion detectors are helpful in keeping a home safe. These
home security devices once were used by only those who were members
of the upper part of the middle class, but now have become affordable
to almost everybody. The window and door sensors are identical in that
they sound an alarm when an electromagnetic field is broken by the opening
or closing of a door. Motion detectors work by picking up on movement
that occurs anywhere in a 180-degree radius in front of it.
• Cameras – If you are a business owner,
you may want to use some home security devices on your business instead
of your home. This can easily be done by installing cameras. Because
you likely will not want an alarm to go off every time a customer walks
through the door, you can instead use a camera to monitor the things
the customer does while in your store.
• Carbon monoxide and smoke detectors –
When you are talking about home security, it is important to remember
to secure your family from carbon monoxide and smoke as well. These
detectors can be hooked up to a monitoring service that dispatches the
fire department to your home in case of an emergency. This can be especially
important in the case of carbon monoxide, which is known as the silent
killer because it cannot be smelt or tasted.
