Personal security
If you are hoping to improve your personal security level,
there are a few different ways that you can do so. Some of these ways
include:
• Don’t go it alone – The easiest
way to improve your level of personal security is to simply try not
to be alone when you are doing things – especially if you are
out after dark. This means that regardless of whether it is going to
a restaurant or going to the parking garage late after work, it is always
best to try to have a companion with you.
• Pepper spray – If you must be alone (or
even if you are not) pepper spray can provide an extra level of personal
security. One of the reasons for this is because pepper spray can be
used both as a weapon as well as a threat. If somebody looks as if they
are going to attack you, simply pulling out the pepper spray might be
enough to thwart off some would-be-attackers. Likewise, if you actually
need to use the pepper spray, this can be a debilitating substance that
will help you escape to safety.
• Alarm – Another item that can improve
your safety is a personal security alarm. These alarms are nice to have
because they allow you to protect yourself without needing to carry
around any kind of a weapon. These alarms typically work by having the
user remove a small pin. Once the pin is removed a 100+ decibel alarm
goes off and causes the attacker to flee because the alarm is loud enough
to be heard by people who are blocks away.
