Security cameras
Although security cameras can be deterrents to criminal
activity around your home or business, there are certain things that
you need to be able to do to ensure that they will work properly. Some
of these things include:
• Look out for trees – Although at the
time you install security cameras outside your home or business there
may be no tree branches in sight, trees have a tendency to do a pesky
thing – grow. This means that a tree that is not in your way at
first, could gradually begin to grow until the branches are impeding
the view of the security cameras. It is usually best to simply try to
install the security cameras far away from any trees that could block
the view. But, if you must install the cameras somewhere near a tree,
make a schedule for yourself to clear out the area every few months
to make sure the branches don’t block the cameras.
• Face it to the door – There are two ways
of thinking with business owners who own a single security camera. Some
choose to face the camera toward the main door, while others will face
the cameras into the store from perhaps on top of the door frame. It
is usually best to install security cameras somewhere in the store facing
the door. When the cameras are installed this way, they are not only
able to get a good shot of an intruder or thief, but they can also deter
criminal activity because the would-be criminal is aware that the security
cameras exist and are focused on him.
